The book is about a girl called Elsie. She was left on the doorstep of an orphanage when she was a baby. The orphanage was not nice. The one who ran the orphanage Mrs curdle was a nasty woman. She would feed them horrible food and stuff a very old sock in their mouth if they complained.One night Elsie had enough. She followed the hole that the rats had made and escape from the orphanage! She was happy she escaped , but she managed to survive from stealing. But one night they found a mamoth!
I liked it because it had action and it was exciting with lots of emotions.
